The EXPRESS-election primer

Cologne - Three, two, one, elected! On Sunday's municipal election. Cologne elect a new mayor, a new city council and nine new district councils. So you do not get caught up in the voting, says the Express, how it works.
There's three ballots. And on each of the three labels only a cross may be made.
1.The ballots for election of the Mayor of Cologne is for all the same. Five candidates to choose from: Peter Kurth (CDU), Juergen Roters (SPD, joint candidate of the SPD and Greens), Ralph Sterck (FDP), Markus Beisicht of the right-wing organization "pro Köln" and Dr. Martin Müser (Free Voters -- Cologne Citizens Alliance FW / KBB). Tick one candidate.
2.The ballot for election to the Council of the City of Cologne is different in each of the 45 constituencies in Cologne. The city council has 90 members. They have only one vote - her select the Direktkandidaten your constituency, while the party for which they compete. The candidate with the most votes moves automatically to the council one - for all so 45th Cologne The remaining 45 council members ever get to vote on the reserve lists of the parties in the Council - the three leading candidates are in the field with the party name.
3.The ballots for the election of municipal councils will be different for each of the nine districts. There are no Direktkandidaten, because the district parliaments are composed only of the respective reserve lists of the parties. Again, you may only make a cross.
