When you order, if you only order the 5100 cross pool pole set that's what you'll get. You have also got to order the 5100 reel set. Picture is fine so you know what reel set to order, but the web site needs to add some text to clear it up. Could upset patrons when they get only a pole that does no good without the reel set. However I have a darn nice 3" pool cross pole. Ordered the reel set. This could have been worded differently, but it may have been offensive to some, so my only recommendation is "just order both items". I only have a 3" pool cross pole so I can't comment on the whole system at this time. Hopefully it does a good job for its intended purpose so I want be forced into descriptive adjectives in the back yard trying to get the cover off.

I originally ordered the 4" version of the pole to make sure I don't experience any sagging. I've read other forums where people have complained about sagging in 3" poles (from other products). Unfortunately, Amazon was not able to deliver the 4" and I had to order this 3" version. I'm glad to report that I saw no noticeable sagging when reeling in my 16x34 12mil cover.
I took 1 star off for the way this pole interconnects. The pole comes in 3 sections, with the middle section having a larger diameter so that the other 2 sections can slide in. Once the desired length has been adjusted for, the sections are screwed together. I think the diameter of the middle section should be made smaller to reduce the slack. It seems like without the screws, it would be easy to loose the grip between the connection.
They should have provided another internal "solid" core for the connections to prevent the tube from collapsing when tightening the screws. This would prevent the tube from deforming and make it more structurally sound.
Tip: When drilling the tube to screw the connections in place, make sure you have twisted the tubes tightly to avoid any movement. Once you have drilled the first one hole and drilling the opposite side, make sure the first holes are still aligned. Before moving on to drill the next set of holes, insert and tighten the first screw to avoid problems in the next set.

just received this item and i am waiting for an answer from Amazon... all i got were the poles! apparently the reels for rolling the cover off your pool are not included. they will get back to me in 3 or 4 days regarding my complaint. needless to say, right now I am NOT satisfied with this product!
