Metrokane Wine Shower Funnel Description
When wine is poured into a decanter through this unique funnel, it creates a "shower", which allows the wine to absorb more oxygen (aeration) in a shorter time. Aeration improves the flavor and bouquet of red wines prior to serving and is recommended by wine experts. Poured through the Shower Funnel, wine can be served immediately after decanting. Fine red wines often develop some sediment while aging and old corks may crumble when pulled. Sediment and cork pieces are easily removed by placing the strainer in the Shower funnel before pouring wine into the decanter.

If you like to filter and aerate your whites or very young pinots this will probably be fine but as soon as you get to a red with any age or sediment forget about it. The filter is a poor design and quickly clogs stopping any flow at all and if you dont pay attention your nectar will overflow on the wrong side of your decanter.

This is the best aerator/filter I've ever used, hands down. I don't use this on my "big" reds, but rather on more delicate wines. The aeration is gentle, and the filter can be removed. It's easy to wash and store, and worth every penny.
It also creates a picturesque "shower" if you don't use the filter and allow the wine to flow freely through the aerator. This is a plus, especially if you're entertaining guests that aren't oenophiles. They'll think you're wicked cool.

This is a tool that makes your life easier and more spectacular. It can strain your wine if it is older and has some sediments. Or it can just put a show on for you while you are decanting your wine. The shower part of this funnel make wine go down the walls of a decanter. And apart from improving qualities of your wine, it might as well improve your mood! It also makes it very easy to poor your decanted wine back into the bottle. I had it for a few months and use it regularly. Just rinse it with water after each use. I see not signs of rust or anything like that. Enjoy!
